We recently addressed an issue affecting Admin Console. We would like to take the opportunity to further explain the issue and the steps we have taken to keep them from happening in the future.
Between 1:33 AM PDT and 2:08 AM PDT on June 22, 2023, some users may have experienced difficulties while working in Box. During this time, users may have experienced blank Admin Console (AC) pages. The issue occurred as a result of a recent code change in our ongoing effort to enhance the performance and resiliency of our deployment workflow. We were able to resolve the issue by reverting to the previous version. In addition, we are working on improving our deployment processes to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.
Analysis
We recently migrated a critical functionality of our deployment workflow to a new system. Unfortunately, this change resulted in an unexpected issue with a downstream service due to a misconfiguration. As a consequence, only a partial set of files got copied correctly during the release, leading to missing required files and causing users to see a blank page when accessing the Admin Console.
